Ohiko no Mikoto is a figure recorded in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki as a son of Emperor Kōgen, dispatched as one of the four generals to pacify and administer distant provinces during the early Yamato state. He is regarded as an ancestral deity of the Abe clan and is enshrined at various shrines across Japan, some of which have come to associate him with health and healing through local tradition. As with many kami linked to specific benefits, these healing associations reflect devotional practice rather than a fixed attribute recorded in the earliest chronicles.
