彦火火出見命(山幸彦)
Hikohohodemi-no-mikoto, also known as Yamasachihiko, is a deity in Japanese mythology recorded in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, son of Ninigi-no-Mikoto and grandfather of Emperor Jimmu. He is best known for the myth in which he loses his brother's fishhook at sea, journeys to the palace of the sea god Watatsumi, and marries the sea deity's daughter Toyotama-hime, an episode often associated with themes of courtship, marriage, and reconciliation between different realms. He is venerated at shrines connected to this lineage, and some traditions link him to matters of love and relationships through the story of his union with Toyotama-hime, though this connection reflects folk association rather than a formally defined doctrinal role.
