事代主命(えびす神)
Ebisu-no-kami, often identified with Kotoshironushi, is a deity within the Shichifukujin (Seven Lucky Gods) tradition and is closely associated with fishing, commerce, and prosperity in Japanese folk religion. Kotoshironushi appears in early chronicles such as the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki as a son of Okuninushi, linked to divination and the transfer of land, and over time became syncretized with Ebisu worship at shrines and festivals. Devotees have traditionally honored this deity in connection with successful trade and abundant catches, though such associations reflect folk belief rather than doctrinal claims.
