Uwatsuwatatsumi-no-kami is a Shinto sea deity mentioned in the Kojiki, born when Izanagi ritually purified himself after returning from the land of the dead, washing away impurity in the sea. Along with the related Nakatsuwatatsumi and Watsumi deities, this kami emerged from the upper waters during that act of misogi, or ritual cleansing.
