Nakatsuwatatsumi-no-kami is a Shinto sea deity mentioned in early Japanese chronicles such as the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, associated with the middle realm of the sea. This kami is one of the three Watatsumi deities (alongside Sokotsuwatatsumi and Uwatsuwatatsumi) said to have emerged from the purification rites of Izanagi, and is venerated by the Azumi clan and others connected to seafaring and fishing traditions.
