Kamunaobi-no-kami is a Shinto deity that emerged from the purification rites performed by Izanagi after his return from the land of the dead, as recorded in the Kojiki. Born alongside Ōkamunaobi-no-kami and the deity Yasomagatsuhi-no-kami, this kami is associated with correcting or rectifying the pollution and misfortune brought about by contact with impurity. Kamunaobi-no-kami is traditionally invoked within the context of purification and exorcism rituals meant to restore balance after defilement.
