Ashinazuchi no Mikoto is a deity appearing in Japanese mythology, particularly in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, known as the father of Kushinada-hime and husband of Tenazuchi no Mikoto. He is best remembered for his role in the tale of Susanoo and the slaying of the eight-headed serpent Yamata no Orochi, in which he sought protection for his daughter. Associations with health and healing are found in some later folk traditions and local shrine veneration, though these are not central to his original mythological role.
