Kushinadahime-no-Mikoto is a deity from Japanese mythology recorded in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, best known as the maiden rescued by the storm god Susanoo from the serpent Yamata-no-Orochi. She became Susanoo's consort, and their union is often cited as one of the earliest divine marriages in Japanese tradition. Because of this legend, she is honored at various shrines, particularly in association with Susanoo, and is regarded by tradition as connected to marriage and romantic bonds.
