In East Asian and Buddhist mythology, Yama is the King of Hell and a dharmapala said to judge the dead, presiding over the hellish realms and over the cycle of life and rebirth. He goes by other names as well, including Yanluo Wang, Yan Wang, Master Yan Wang, Lord Yan, and Yanluo, Son of Heaven.
