延命地蔵菩薩
Enmei Jizo Bosatsu is a form of Jizo Bosatsu (Kshitigarbha), the bodhisattva widely venerated in Japanese Buddhism as a guardian of children, travelers, and those who suffer, and often invoked as a protector who eases pain and grants long life, as reflected in the name Enmei, meaning 'life-extending.' Statues of this figure are traditionally found at temples, roadside shrines, and cemeteries, where devotees have historically prayed for health, safe childbirth, and the wellbeing of children. As with many localized manifestations of Jizo, devotional traditions associate Enmei Jizo with healing and protection, though such benefits are matters of religious belief rather than verified fact.
