Kushinadahime-no-Mikoto is a deity from Japanese mythology best known as the maiden rescued by Susanoo-no-Mikoto from the monstrous Yamata-no-Orochi serpent, an episode recorded in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki. After her rescue, she became Susanoo's consort, and their union is often referenced in association with marriage and protective bonds between partners. She is enshrined at various Shinto shrines across Japan, including sites linked to the Izumo tradition, where she is honored alongside Susanoo.
