Seoritsuhime no Kami is a Shinto deity traditionally associated with rivers and rapids, believed to carry away impurities and misfortune as swift waters cleanse the land. She is counted among the harae-do-no-kami, the group of purification deities invoked in Shinto rites to wash away defilement. In folk practice she has also come to be venerated in connection with love and relationships, though this association reflects popular devotion rather than a fixed doctrinal role.
