Wake no Hiromushi, also known as Wake no Hiromushime, was a historical female figure of the Wake clan in the Nara period, remembered chiefly as the sister of the statesman Wake no Kiyomaro. She is noted in traditional accounts for her compassionate works, including the care of orphaned children, which has led to associations with nurturing and child welfare in popular tradition. Her connection to fertility and childbirth rests more on later folk veneration than on clearly documented ritual practice.
