Kotoshironushi-no-kami is a deity in Japanese mythology, appearing prominently in the Kuniyuzuri (land-transfer) narratives of the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki as a son of Okuninushi who consents to yield the land to the heavenly deities. He is closely associated with divination, oracles, and communication with the divine, reflecting his name's meaning tied to "knowing" or "speaking for" the land. Over time he has come to be venerated at various shrines, including as an ebisu-type deity linked to fishing and, in some traditions, commerce and prosperity.
