Omononushi-no-okami is a deity chiefly associated with Mount Miwa and the Ōmiwa Shrine in Nara, and is closely linked to the mythic figure Ōkuninushi, sometimes regarded as another aspect of that god. Traditionally venerated as a guardian of the land, agriculture, and human affairs, this deity has also come to be honored by some worshippers in connection with marriage and relationships.
