市杵嶋姫命
Ichikishimahime no Mikoto is one of the three Munakata goddesses born from Susanoo's sword in Japanese mythology, daughters produced during the divine contest with Amaterasu. She is traditionally enshrined at the Munakata Shrines and is closely associated with the sea, safe voyage, and protection of maritime routes. Through syncretic identification with the Buddhist deity Benzaiten, she has also come to be linked with wealth and fortune, though this association reflects later religious blending rather than her original mythological role.
