Omononushi-no-kami

Omononushi-no-kami is a deity enshrined at Omiwa Shrine (Mt. Miwa) in Nara, traditionally identified as a spirit of Mt. Miwa itself and closely associated with Okuninushi in mythological tradition. He is venerated as a kami of nation-building, agriculture, and the protection of communities, and various shrines and legends have connected him to matters of marriage and relationships as well as to safety on the sea and fishing endeavors.
