大山咋神
Oyamakui-no-kami is a Shinto deity associated with Mount Hiei and Mount Matsuo, whose name is often interpreted as relating to the stakes or posts marking mountain boundaries, linking the deity to the mountain itself. This kami is enshrined at Hiyoshi Taisha in Shiga Prefecture and Matsunoo Taisha in Kyoto, where it has long been venerated by local communities and associated clans.
