Okuninushi-no-mikoto

Okuninushi-no-mikoto is a prominent deity in Japanese mythology, chiefly enshrined at Izumo Taisha, celebrated as a builder of the land and a figure associated with nation-building, medicine, and marriage. According to legend, he received knowledge of healing arts and remedies from the deities Sukunahikona and others, which underlies his traditional association with health and healing.
