Ukanomitama no Mikoto

Ukanomitama no Mikoto is a kami of grains, food, and agricultural abundance recorded in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, often regarded as a deity of Shinto tradition closely associated with prosperity and sustenance. Over time, this kami became closely identified with Inari, the widely venerated spirit of rice, harvests, and general fortune, and is enshrined at numerous Inari shrines across Japan, including the head shrine Fushimi Inari Taisha. Devotees have traditionally approached this kami through prayer and offerings seeking abundance, protection, and well-being, though such outcomes remain matters of faith and popular tradition rather than doctrinal certainty.
