伊弉冉尊
Izanami no Mikoto is a primordial creator deity in Japanese mythology, described in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki as the sister-spouse of Izanagi, with whom she gave birth to the islands of Japan and many kami. After dying in childbirth to the fire god, she withdrew to Yomi, the underworld, and her mythic story is closely tied to themes of marriage, mortality, and the boundary between life and death. She is venerated at various shrines, particularly in connection with creation and ancestral traditions, and devotees have historically sought her association with union and protection, though such benefits are matters of tradition and belief rather than verified fact.
