伊弉冉尊(熊野権現)
Izanami-no-mikoto is a primordial creator deity in Japanese mythology, described in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki as the female counterpart to Izanagi, together giving birth to the islands of Japan and many kami before her death in childbirth. After passing into the underworld realm of Yomi, she became associated with death and the cycle of life, yet is also venerated at Kumano shrines under the syncretic Kumano Gongen tradition, where she is linked to protection and well-being. Devotion to her at Kumano and related shrines is traditionally connected with themes of health, safety, and the renewal of life, reflecting her dual mythic role as both originator and guardian of the natural and spiritual order.
